The source of inspitation for dust based in Freiburg is nature with its absolute urge of perfection/wish for perfection in form, material, colour. dust's works open our eyes for a fragile and organic microcosm: for one moment a fanciful picture appears which will vanish again with the next glance.
The works are focused on the vision of harmony between humans and nature. The abstract and reduced form of a human being, without its true identity - like the one of an animal - suffering in a consumer society longing for its origin/roots. The artist's style is a mixture of contemporary abstraction, surrealism and striking form and colour design.
His works can now be seen not only in the streets of modern metropolises but also in contemporary art galleries. Next to the artists established work on canvas and paper he also creates serials of sculptures and designtoys.
dust's paintings allow an insight into this ephemeral organic universe. Substance and fantasy mix in front of the viewer to one image.
"dust" about his works: The roots of my creations are located in Streetart. Since 2000 I work under the pseudonym "dust". By composing and modeling I create an experimental world, in which the intended meets the unintended, constructed elements meet organic elements. This generates the main part of my activity. I work in the illustrative as well as in the conceptual field and because of my work as a free artist I see myself belonging to the Contemporary Art/ New Wave subculture.
