After three years SAM3 returns to Pretty Portal to show new and classical artworks.
The work of Spanish urban artist SAM3 are ironic, poetic and provocative. SAM3 is known for its large scale black and white murals.

His pictures receive their intense presence, through the reduction to a few colors and thier clear imagery. Despite or because of their simplicity they invite the viewer to confront and reveal their message one by one. His works are dominated by figurative elements, which are in metamorphosis with their environment.

The Spanish-born artist currently lives in Murcia, but he paints all around the world and not just images, but often entire stories. This he shows in his experimental stop-motion short films.

SAM3 will be present at the opening of his show.

Next week we will release DECYCLE´s latest stencil edition.
The print titled "Bulle oder Bär" (bull or bear) is showing a rodeo cowboy riding on a stocks chart.
His last editions "Little red bombing the hood", "Moonchild" and " Down to business" sold out very fast.

There will be a red edition of 25 and a gold edition of 15
Everything is handsprayed on Hahnemühle 300g/m paper, the pattern below the chart is slightly different on every piece, so every print is unique.

During his stay at Pretty Portal for the show "Rusted ideas" we produced a limited edition screenprint with PIXELPANCHO, which will be released on thursday, 28th of march.
PIXELPANCHO´s work is always very detailed and full of colours so we had to give our printer a real hard time. The effort was rewarded, because the result is absolutely stunning.

We are looking forward to present the extraordinary works of the Italian artist Pixelpancho in march. Pixelpancho is one of the outstanding protagonists of the Italian urban art scene, which has gradually developed around artists such as Blu, Erica il cane, the Fame Festival and Studio Chromie.

In his surrealistic imagery puppets, robots, toys and ancient creatures merge together, alluding to large brands of commerce, superheroes and known pop icons, that a are in a process of ongoing disintegration. Pixelpancho succeeds in convincing not only because of its eye-catching painting skills, but also because of his unique style, which draws on various and diverse sources.

The female spanish artist BTOY aka Andrea Michaelson is one of the most famous protagonists of urban art. 2013 begins with a busy schedule for BTOY. In January, her pictures have already been shown in exhibitions in Paris and Barcelona. In February, her path leads from Venice, via the well known Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn to Dusseldorf. Here BTOY will show a series of her works which she produces with mixed techniques containing Stencil (stencil), screen printing and painting in the gallery Pretty Portal. BTOY will also present a book that was published in december last year and is dedicated to your work. BTOY will be present at the vernissage.

With the aid of rare and partly self-built or programmed analog and digital technology, Franz Schuier improvising with sound and light. He is inspired by modern electronic sounds as well as the avant-garde and new music of the 50s and 60s. In search of a synaesthetic formula for the here and now arise graphic sounds and musical light.

Franz Schuier lives and works in Dusseldorf. As a musician, he published in the 90's on basswerk, Gushcollective, Kitty Yo and others. Since the mid-10s, he runs an interdisciplinary studio for art and media production.
In June 2012 Pretty Portal showed graphic works by Franz Schuier in the exhibition Haphazard.
